Vortex combi
The latest generation of depollution equipment announced by Vortex.

Vortex launch Combi System

Depollution specialists, Vortex Ltd have released news of the latest generation of their depollution system. Known as the combi system, they tell us it incorporates all the benefits of their separates system into one simple to use stand and tool format.

The rigid stand has a neat feature, with raisable blocks front and back that allows the vehicle to tilt one way or the other. From the depolluter’s point of view, that makes draining and access far more effective. The stand incorporates two ‘cupboard’ doors at the rear which houses all the pumps and valves, allowing for easy access whilst at the same time being fully protected. Also, mounted at the top of the stand are all the necessary gauges and flick over switches for clean or dirty fuel.

vortex mobile units
Vortex have also released upgraded mobile units to the same specification.
Another big improvement affects the new fuel tool head. The tool’s function remains the same but it now incorporates all of the controls. This gives the operator full control of the system right in front of him, which means faster vehicle process times. While we are talking about fast process times, this latest version shifts fuel at a rate of up to 35 litres per minute, making it the fastest sealed system in the world.

Whilst this is happening the oil is drained into clog resistant pumped drainer arms. They tell us the rubber funnels are unbreakable! They are mounted on 75mm (3”) diameter raiser tubes which filter out foreign matter that, as we all know from experience can cause blockages. Coolant is removed using their vacuum operated, super fast coolant spike. Once you have cut off the cat you have time to prepare the next car whilst the rest of the engine and transmission oil is draining.

Vortex couldn’t give us any vehicle processing figures for the combi system as units have only recently been installed but they have customers processing over 60 cars a day with their existing systems and this latest version, with it’s improved features should be even faster. Could be a great competition for dismantlers and suppliers to see who is the fasted each year - let us have your thoughts.
