Have you submitted your recycling returns yet?

ELV report form
Have you reached the 85% target?
The deadline for submitting your returns to show the level of recovery carried out on end of life vehicles has moved from April 1st to July 1st. So, anyone who doesn’t use a service such as CarTakeBack or Autogreen, must send in their own figures by July 1st.

Although there has been threats of prosecution for failing to report, at this point in time we are not aware of anyone having been prosecuted although we understand that there are a number in the pipeline. There is also talk about not only prosecuting those who fail to report but also those who don’t reach the 85% target. The pressure is coming from Europe which is threatening the UK government with legal action if they don’t reach the target.

This is all very well but if you read the information sent to you by the department for business, innovation and skills regarding your reporting, it is impossible to reach the 85% without the shredders giving you the recovered figure from residue for your vehicles. This makes it essential that whoever takes your shells supplies you with the figure to include on your return, otherwise you could be in trouble.
