RSA pull out of Motor Trade Policies

Many dismantlers had a bit of a shock last month when Royal Sun Alliance announced they were pulling out of issuing motor trade policies.

Ingram, Hawkins & Knock, who operate tailored policies through RSA for vehicle dismantlers taking advantage of the Motor Vehicle Dismantlers’ Association’s insurance scheme, have been busy allaying any fears members may have had. Just in case anyone is unsure of the current position, Ingrams, Hawkins & Nock have issued the following statement.

INGRAM HAWKINS & NOCK CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS OF MVDA MEMBERS The recent announcement by RSA, to withdraw from providing insurance to those operating in the Motor Trade sector, has impacted upon the facilities provided by RSA to members of the MVDA. The good news is that because of the excellent performance of the MVDA facility, placed by IHN with the RSA, and the quality of the MVDA businesses insured within by IHN, there is no immediate impact on either our clients or our ability to continue to provide insurance.

We have received a guarantee from RSA that they will cooperate with IHN in the provision of Management Information and of course this will support just what we know, the MVDA facility we operate is strong and growing.

In June 2012, IHN was successful in achieving recognition as a Chartered Insurance Broker. This, together with our reputation in the insurance market, our membership of Willis Commercial Network, and the expertise and experience which we have in working with the MVDA and its members, will enable IHN to secure an alternative insurer to continue the exclusive facility currently enjoyed by so many MVDA members and by those members who are currently working with the IHN team to transfer their insurance arrangements to our unique product.

IHN looks forward to the future, supporting the work of the MVDA and its members, by providing Risk Management advice, exclusive insurance arrangements, excellent claims handling and sponsorship of the key events arranged by the MVDA and attended by so many members.

Please do not hesitate to contact IHN for any advice or to receive an answer to your questions, Steve Walker and Rodger Philpot are IHN's experts in ATF insurance requirements. You can call them on 01384 375555. Ingram Hawkins & Nock Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
