Motorhog to host CARS on June 5,6th, 2014 - updated

Motorhog's head office
Motorhog's Doncaster base will host CARS 2014 - sites don't come any better than this!
CARS, the Complete Auto Recycling and Secondary Materials Show is back for Summer 2014 and boy, it looks as if it’s going to be bigger and better than the last show - and that’s going to take some doing!

The location for the next CARS show is Motorhog’s Doncaster site. Motorhog must be the largest auto recycler in the UK with the operation spanning 10 sites throughout the country, extending to over 50 acres - some farms aren’t that big!

The show will be held at their head office site in Doncaster, How can we describe this site to someone who hasn’t been. Well its big, around 25 acres, there’s more concrete and racks than we’ve ever seen in one place, the buildings are all to the latest spec and designed for purpose, multiple bays for depollution, repair and parts removal - all with the latest kit, computerised parts stores with over 50,000 green parts on the shelf; then there’s plenty of added value processing including balers and material separators; we could go on but take it from us, this site is the Holy Grail of auto recycling - worth going to CARS just to see it!

The dates for the show are June 5th & 6th, 2014 and the organisers are anticipating an even greater number of exhibitors than last time, with many new enquiries coming from the suppliers of equipment and systems for added value processes that could help to move your business into a whole new ball park. We must stress the dates are still provisional. As CARS attracts an international audience, it is important that the show doesn’t clash with any other big events overseas and the organisers are still waiting for confirmation from a couple of their contacts.

Green parts markets and the development of trade sales plus the standards to go with it will be a key theme at CARS 2014 with planned demonstrations and seminars to help you maximise your potential in what will become your most significant parts outlet in the future. Regular readers of atfPro will be more than aware of the huge potential this market has. We only have to look to our friends in the USA to see what we are looking at! Maximising returns from your vehicles and minimising your costs will also feature heavily at CARS.

CARS racing
Anyone who attended CARS at Hills Recycling in 2012 knows that it's not just about trade stands and seminars - there's plenty of fun to be had as well.
Naturally, fun will feature heavily again and there’s plenty around Doncaster for that. There’s the races, there’s stacks of museums and parks, there’s historic York just up the road plus there’s great access to ferry ports and local airports. That’s not to mention all the entertainment that will be at the show - food, drink, music, auctions - and buses to take you back to your hotel so you don’t have to worry about enjoying yourself.

Motorhog’s MD, Richard Martin has been at the forefront of professional vehicle recycling for many years and is the man responsible for Motorhog’s growth and development into the top flight business it is today. Richard is keen to welcome you all to Doncaster next year. “The future for anyone involved in this business lies with increased professionalism and finding better and more profitable ways to process their vehicles. Whether that’s parts and vehicle sales or the materials that make up the hulks. I believe CARS 2014 will give us all the opportunity to find ways to achieve these goals”.

Due to the scale and size of CARS, the organisation of the show has been handed over to EMG. You may be more aware of this company as the publishers of letsrecycle.com and their involvement will bring a greater level of professionalism to the show’s running. EMG currently publishes a number of environmental titles and organise many conferences and events in the recycling field. Rest assured that the industry will still be directly involved with the development of the show with CARS 2012’s planning committee being retained for the next show.

It’s early days and we haven’t any further details at this stage but we shall keep you up to date as things develop. If you want further details in the meantime, you can email the show’s organiser, Iona Smith at EMG or call her on 020 7633 4500. If you want to see what Motorhog is about, visit their website here.
