AA looking for ELV outlets

Automobile Association
The AA is creating an approved ATF network for the disposal of end of life, damaged or unwanted vehicles. This may be an opportunity for you!
The AA is to offer members a disposal route for end of life and damaged / unwanted vehicles and there are opportunities for professional ATFs to get involved.

The new service will be available via the AA’s website and will be promoted to the organisation’s 15 million members through its various channels including the members’ magazine, direct mail, email and through the patrol force. In total, the UK’s biggest breakdown provider attends around 3.5 million breakdowns per year – often topping 18,000 a day during bad winter weather – so the numbers are significant.

The AA has appointed Hills Salvage and Recycling Ltd, hosts of CARS 2013, to set up a UK-wide network of ATFs that meet the AA’s strict professional standards. Ian Hill explains: “We can’t cover the whole country but it is important that ATFs who get involved meet the exacting standards that the AA requires. We anticipate not only ELVs but higher quality vehicles that may have suffered major mechanical failure, accident damage or are simply no longer wanted. Working with the AA will help drive forward the professional nature of our industry.”

The AA plans to establish its network by the end of 2013, so to get involved or for more information, email Ian Hill or call him on 01695 551970.
