What a show

Motorhog site
This is what CARS is about - Auto recyclers talking about auto recycling and what better way to get you thinking than a guided tour around Motorhog's 25 acre facility with Richard Martin.
Well CARS 2014 has been and gone but with record numbers of exhibitors and visitors, the show really hit the spot for anyone involved in auto recycling.

We could rabbit on for hours about this year’s show and many of the key highlights are covered in other articles this month or will follow in subsequent months. Here, for those who didn’t make it, we just want to bring a flavour of the show. After all, CARS isn’t like other trade shows, it’s more akin to a get together where you can learn, make new friends, have a bit of fun and maybe even do a little business! Enjoy the photos.

Vortex Depollution
Machinery, machinery, machinery - that's what many love about the show. Where else can you take a look at competitor's machines working side by side. Vortex's depollution kit is now part of JMC Recycling's comprehensive range for our industry and was drawing plenty of interest. Some products not seen before such as SAS Forks' Scorpion are reviewed in a separate article this month and we shall review many more new and improved products over the coming months.
Inside had plenty to offer as well, with everything from technology systems to material specialists. If you wanted information relating to any aspect of industry, then you would have found it at CARS. There was also plenty of fun to be had with insurance specialist IHN's strong man machine and Removemycar's motor racing extravaganza.
Getting together is a part of the pleasure at CARS. For the Gala night, Motorhog had a great band made up from employees at the site who sure could play. The charity auction again raised a heap of money for the two chosen charities and the beer flowed all night - once we figured out how to change a barrel!
Auto Recycling is as much about secondary materials as used parts and there was a great display in the big machine area from Fuchs cranes and Hammell's mobile shredders including a demonstration of why fuel needs to be removed before shredding. Even so, a great testament to the design and strength of Hammel's kit that it could take this level of abuse!
Building our businesses and improving the bottom line is important to most of us and the conference centre focuessed on these areas. The Green Parts Forum was a key part of this and we shall look in closer detail next month.

There was plenty more to see and do at this years' show and if you want to see more, the organisers have put plenty of photos on their website Take a look here.. Oh well, only two years to wait until CARS 2016!
