Green Car do it again

Green Car Award
Another top award for depollution specialist, Green Car.
Green Car are in the spotlight again with another top award. I guess you can’t keep a good team down!

Their latest achievement came from the South West Business Awards, where they were finalists for three of the category awards and were winners of the Best Young Business award.

It’s easy to underestimate how hard it is to achieve at this level, especially when you consider that the award ceremony included big name finalists like clothing giant, Super Dry and the Royal Agricultural College. GreenCar told atfPro that they were just happy to be finalists but to win was so unexpected; so unexpected that GreenCar’s MD and Designer, Julian Dale had taken his bow tie off. “It was a panicky moment to get it back on when we realised we were being called to the stage; we really weren’t expecting to win”, he said.

What gave them the edge? Among other aspects of the business, the judges were very impressed with the focus they had placed on utilising local industry to manufacture their components. Olivia Hutchins, GreenCar’s Sales Director said, “The specialist companies we use to manufacture our critical components are part of the aerospace supply chain so are well used to working to exacting standards. The nature of their business means they have periods of down time and instead of the machines sitting idle, they are willing to do short production runs for us at a competitive cost, making a win-win situation for both parties. Many of our components come off the same machines that make components that end up in a global airline but at a fraction of the cost.” What can we say fly a GreenCar depollution rig to day!

They also report that they are busier than they have ever been at the moment, particularly with many of their existing customers currently updating and adding improved process equipment. And as for new equipment, they tell us they are literally gaining a new customer for new equipment every week with export markets playing an ever more significant role. “We have equipment going out to Dubai currently, but the UK is also really busy for us – especially in the South East”, explained Olivia.

GreenCar also tell us they have a brand new Air Bag Deployment tool – hopefully more about this next month - stay tuned!
