China cracks down on high emission vehicles

Chinese ELVs
Stacking 10 or 20 high - no problems here - must be a great opportunity for the racking salesman!
A recent article on the Daily Mail website focussed on the Chinese crackdown on high emission vehicles in an effort to get to grips with their terrible issues with smog. This is well worth a look!

The Mail’s article went on to say that this has resulted in vast number of scrapyards and recycling sites containing thousands of abandoned buses, cars and trucks.

The photo above is just one of many on the Mail’s site which you can see here. As their article claims, “Gigantic mounds of transport vehicles that do not meet the minimum emissions standards have formed at landfill sites."

The push in China to clean up the vehicle stock has also affected fuels with new vehicles soon having to comply with National Standard IV fuels which should lead to seven times less sulphur emissions for diesel and three times less for petrol.

No shortage of stock in China - take a look at the photos here.
