Cable Granulation now from Green Car

Guidetti manufacture a range of cable granulators from 50-3,000kg/hr and they're now available in the UK from Green Car.
We all associate Green Car with ELV depollution equipment but that’s probably going to change with the recent announcement of the addition of Guidetti cable granulation systems. This should enhance the service that GreenCar can offer the industry.

Green Car need no introduction but you may not be so well aware of Italian manufacturer, Guidetti. Although their products have previously been available within the UK, I am sure they will be pleased to now have a company like Green Car behind them whose customers include some of the major names within the industry.

So what about Guidetti? The company goes back to the 80’s and (amongst other things) supplies an extensive range of cable granulation systems, ranging from the smallest model in their SINCRO EKO range that will handle 50kg per hour right the way through to their LINEE plants that handle up to 3,000kg per hour. The product line is split into five ranges:
  • SINCRO ECO 50-1,000kg/hr
  • SINCRO MILL 170-550kg/hr
  • SINCRO C 100-1,100kg/hr
  • WIRE PRO 500-1,500kg/hr
  • LINEE 1,000-3,000kg/hr
Guidetti tells us that all their ranges are designed to be both environmentally and economically efficient with maintenance kept to a minimum. Features such as cassette mounted cutters to minimise downtime, and process design to ensure easy separation of thick metals from plugs and connectors all point toward low running costs. Guidetti’s aim is to process with the minimum of fuss while keeping the cost to process per tonne at the lowest possible.

Electric cables are great example of an area where the dismantler can add value. We recently looked at the financial benefits of engine breaking and vehicle recycling systems, and like those, cables are a valuable source of potential extra profit. If we take a round price of £1 per kilo for harnesses and compare that to a copper price near £3.40 per kilo, it’s not hard to see that there could be mileage in it. We shall take a close look at some costings in a future issue of atfPro.

Code of practice flawed, the opinion of the BVSF
