Another road trip planned to the ARA convention

USA trip for UK dismantlers
Last year's visit to US yards by a group of UK auto recyclers highlighted plenty of areas for the visitors to develop. Here the group is visiting Wayne Auto Salvage.
Back in November last year, we reported on the road trip that had been organised for UK dismantlers wanting to visit the ARA conference. The trip was so successful they’re doing it again, so if you missed out last year, then there’s another chance but be warned, spaces are limited!

You can read all about last year’s trip here. This year the trip will start in Boston on Sunday 23 October, arriving in Baltimore on Wednesday 26 October where the 73rd ARA Convention and Expo will take place. They depart Baltimore on Sunday 30 October.

The itinerary is not yet fully finalised but it’s currently looking like this:
Sunday 23 October
Meet at Best Western Adams Inn, Boston

Monday 24 October
Visit Robertsons Auto Salvage, Wareham MA and Goyette’s Inc. New Bedford MA. Then, Drive to Berlin, CT. Stay at Best Western Plus, Berlin.

Tuesday 25 October
Visit Bishops Used Auto Parts, Middletown, CT and Tom’s Foreign Auto Parts, Waterbury, CT. Then, Drive to King of Prussia, PA. Stay at Best Western Plus at King of Prussia PA

Wednesday 26 October
Visit Chuck’s Auto Salvage, Douglassville PA Arrive at Baltimore, register at the convention.

Thursday 27 October Baltimore - convention seminars and exposition Friday 28 October
Baltimore - convention seminars, exposition and Awards Dinner.

Saturday 29 October
Baltimore - convention seminars, exposition, Yard Tour and BBQ.

Sunday 30 October
Depart Baltimore

The organiser, Andy Latham told atfProfessional that some yard visits and overnight stays, particularly on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 October may change from the current itinerary but rest assured you won’t have any disappointments.

This trip is the perfect opportunity for UK dismantlers to see how they operate in American yards, pick up a few tips and ideas and visit the amazing ARA conference where you can learn from top speakers, trainers and developers. Then you can browse the exposition and network with fellow auto recyclers from around the world. It’s amazing how many new ideas you will pick up that can help increase your profits when you get back home.

This is what one of the trippers last year had to say when he returned. “Visiting the yards along the way to Charlotte and the conference itself has given me a wealth of knowledge and ideas on how to take my business and yard forward, both in selling quality recycled parts and offering a better customer experience, along with improving my workplace environmentally and for the good of my employees and customers.” Sounds like not only fun but highly profitable as well - what could be better?

If you want to find out more about the ARA convention, click here, or take a look at the report of last year’s trip here. Once you’ve done that, you can email Andy Latham here to get your name down.
